Conflict management
Concrete activities
Barriers and openings
What?
An activity where two groups that have not been able to collaborate over a long period of time spend time together talking openly about their collaboration challenge. It is an activity designed to 'turn' negative energy into new possibilities.
Why?
When we need to talk about what is difficult.
LB is an organization that seemed insecure on many levels, as it is an organization with different DNA and values. Therefore, the employees do not share the same experience of what the training is.
How?
Get the groups to accept their conflict. Ask each group to analyze what barriers have been built up between the groups and what the impact has been. Get the groups to agree on the most important barriers to remove. Create a plan to break down the initial barrier and a plan to continue the conversations.
When you start breaking down the barriers it becomes clear how actions mean more than words.
Who?
The activity is best facilitated by an external facilitator. Most groups that have ended up in conflict do not have the resources to resolve the situation themselves.
